These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of The Blocker, operated by Ask Charly LLC. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The Blocker is a family internet protection service operated by Ask Charly LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), a Florida limited liability company. The service provides DNS-based content filtering, AI-powered domain classification, and related parental tools.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you represent and warrant that:
The Blocker is not intended for use by children. If we discover that a person under 18 has created an account, we will terminate that account immediately.
The Blocker does not use passwords. Instead, you log in using a secure link sent to your email address each time you sign in. Because of this, your account's security depends entirely on the security of your email account. You agree to:
The Basic tier is free, forever, and provides real-time AI-powered filtering across 14 categories of harmful or inappropriate content, calibrated to your child's age and developmental stage, across every device configured on your network. The free tier is provided as-is and may be modified at our discretion with reasonable notice, though it will always remain free.
The AI Edition adds real conversations with Charly (Ask Charly), phone call alerts for categories you choose, and daily reports. A 7-day free trial is available for new subscribers.
Payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service.
You agree to use The Blocker only for its intended purpose of family internet protection, in compliance with all applicable laws.
The Blocker filters DNS-level requests based on real-time AI classification. Some applications and services may not be reachable through standard DNS filtering methods, and no filtering technology can guarantee 100% coverage of all harmful content. We encourage pairing The Blocker with your device's own built-in parental controls (such as Screen Time on iOS or Family Link on Android) for full coverage.
The Blocker requires no software installation. If you decide The Blocker isn't right for your family, simply remove the two DNS numbers from your device's network settings and the device reverts to your provider's default DNS automatically.
The Blocker, AgeGuard Intelligence™, Charly, and all associated branding are the intellectual property of Ask Charly LLC. U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 64/013,894 is pending. Unauthorized use of our brand, technology, or content is prohibited.
The Blocker is provided "as is." We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the completeness of content filtering, uninterrupted service availability, or fitness for any particular purpose.
Ask Charly LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of The Blocker, including but not limited to content accessed despite filtering. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the preceding 12 months.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ask Charly LLC, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or violation of these terms.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard settings, or by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends immediately.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Palm Beach County, Florida.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
