COPPA Compliance Statement

1. The Blocker Is Built for Parents, Not Children

The Blocker is a service directed at parents and legal guardians. Children do not create accounts, log in, or interact directly with The Blocker in any way that involves them providing their own information. All account setup, registration, and data entry is performed by the parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone without first obtaining verifiable parental consent as described below.

2. Verifiable Parental Consent

Before any information about a child is collected, the registering parent must affirmatively confirm that they are at least 18 years of age and are the parent or legal guardian of any child they enroll, and must consent to the collection described in this statement on the child's behalf.

The method of verification depends on the service tier:

• AI Edition subscribers: consent is verified through a real credit card transaction processed by Stripe, Inc. as part of subscribing — one of the verification methods recognized under COPPA.
• Free tier: because free-tier information about a child is used only internally, to power the filtering and reporting features described in this statement, and is never publicly disclosed or shared with third parties for their own purposes, we rely on the parent's affirmative confirmation and consent at signup — consistent with the lower-friction "internal use only" verification standard the FTC has recognized as appropriate when a child's information is not being made public.

3. What Information We Collect About Children

We collect only what is necessary to provide age-appropriate filtering:

• First name — used to personalize reports and alerts to the parent
• Date of birth — used to calculate exact age, which drives AgeGuard Intelligence's developmental-stage filtering
• Gender (optional) — used only to calibrate tone and pronoun usage in AI-generated reports

4. How Children's Information Is Used

Children's information is used exclusively to:

• Determine age-appropriate content filtering via AgeGuard Intelligence
• Personalize parent-facing reports and alerts with the child's name
• Attribute DNS activity history (see Section 6) to the correct child profile for parent review

We do not use children's information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the filtering and reporting service described in our marketing materials.

5. We Do Not Share Children's Information

We do not sell, rent, trade, or disclose children's personal information to any third party, except as strictly necessary to provide the service itself. Specifically: when a domain name is evaluated for filtering, we transmit that domain name and the child's age — never their name, date of birth, or any other identifying information — to Anthropic, the company that builds Claude, the AI model we use to classify content. Anthropic processes this information solely to return a filtering decision and does not use it to build a profile of your child. Further detail is available in our Privacy Policy, Section 4.

We do not use children's information for targeted advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles of children.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

DNS activity logs — records of which domains a child's device attempted to reach, and whether they were blocked or allowed — are automatically and permanently deleted after 30 days, enforced by an automated process that runs daily, not merely a written policy. A child's profile information (name, date of birth, gender) is retained only while the parent's account remains active, and is permanently deleted within 30 days of the parent deleting their account or removing that child's profile.

7. Parental Rights

As a parent or guardian, you have the right at any time to:

• Review the information we have collected about your child, by contacting us or viewing your dashboard
• Correct any inaccurate information about your child directly from your dashboard
• Delete your child's profile and all associated data, at any time, from your dashboard settings
• Revoke consent for further collection at any time, either by deleting your child's profile (which stops collection going forward while preserving your account) or by deleting your account entirely

Deletions initiated directly from your dashboard take effect immediately. If you contact us directly instead — by email or phone — we will respond to your request within 15 business days.

8. Security

Children's information is stored in the same encrypted, access-controlled cloud database as the rest of our account data, described in our Privacy Policy, Section 5. No system is perfectly secure, but we apply industry-standard safeguards to protect it.

9. Changes to This Statement

We may update this COPPA Compliance Statement from time to time as our practices evolve or as regulations change. We will notify registered users of any material changes via email. Continued use of The Blocker after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated statement.
